I RUN BAD

Played well yesterday in 1milTT and sunday mil but didnt finish that well financially... as a result of running like a one legged dog.

Had a very healthy stack in the TT and made a resteal with AJs in the BB, LAG button snap calls, flop Jxx rainbow, I check he shoves i call, shows jqo, spikes a Q on the river...my stack goes from 100BB to 9BB. Make an M shove and with k9s get called by K6o, 66x flop...GG me.

Started the Sunday Milly an hour late...if theres going to be an hour late reg i might as well take advantage, healthy stack on bubble in like 50th place at that point, had aces v kings(who was in like 2nd place) and he spikes king on turn, gg me....

Free money

So i got an email from Full Tilt say they value me as a customer blah blah blah here's $300(that's what i read anyway). I guess that's what i get for cashing out my roll after a heated email exchange which ended in them not giving me rakeback and me telling them to go to hell. I guess this is their way of giving me rakeback but i will most like cash most of it back out again, but this time ill leave some on for MTT's because they run some good ones occasionally.

also i wish i would have tried to cash out a couple days earlier b/c with all the frozen account bs and echecks/ checks bouncing, Stars is giving people money for their troubles( Ive heard anywhere from $100 to 10% of their total cashout) would have been nice....

Praying for 2x Vpp or better yet that ridiculous promo those anti-dental Brits got last month! Sorry all my English pals but I'm still a little bitter and stereotypes are funny!

Vegas Trip

So to make this preface short, my girlfriend had never been to Vegas and needed a vacation. You know Im always down to go to Vegas so we planned a week trip at the start of the world series so I could play and she could get her vacay.

I will honestly say I didnt think i would have as much fun with her as i normally would with friends, mainly because all my friends planting the seed by saying "vegas cool, oh that sucks your girls goin". But as it turns out we had a phenomenal time and she wants to go back again soon, which is a far cry from about 6 months ago when she swore up and down she would never go to LV.

On a side note, i elected to not play event 4 a) because i didnt want her to be bored and alone for a day+ in a place shes never been, b) this reasons outlined in my first post and i didnt reach my self imposed goal. Not a big deal really bc i most likely would have received a horrible beat from a huge moron as is standard in those large live donkaments.

I think the main reason i had so much fun was because i actually experienced more of VEGAS and less of the inside of casinos... on previous trips i spent 10 hours a day at the poker table and the rest of the time by the pool or playing cocktail hunter(explanation to come). Anyway we went and saw KA which is an amazing show and we meet a few people at the 3 card tables from cali who we hung out with. We spent A LOT of time at the pool and going to nicer restaurants rather than just eating fast food every meal, although you know we had to hit up fat burger b/c Im fly at fat burger when im way out west!

COCKTAIL HUNTER!!!!! you know what im talking about, cocktail hunter is when you bounce from slot to slot getting free drinks from the cocktail waitresses and after a while and the more sloshed you get it becomes a much more exciting game! We played that a few nights, our record was 15 beers/12 mixed drinks in 2 hours for 15 bucks in tips, needless to say we were hammered drunk and had a great time back in the hotel room!!

In closing...all in all a great trip although i only played about 8 hours total of poker, i was running hot at 3 card poker hitting 3-3 of a kinds and 1 straight flush, and after spending $800 on food plus the shows and cost of the suite and flying out there we were only $200 bucks in the hole so the trip paid for itself. Not as much as ive made in the past playing poker but a much more enjoyable trip.

More to come on my adventure of redepositing after my trip to come....stay tuned.

To HUD or not to HUD

I have been debating for quite sometime now on whether or not to start using a HUD while playing. On one hand I am completely against it because it gives players information that I dont believe they could accurately gather/use without it. On the other hand it seems as though a majority of players(excluding fish) are using them, so that puts me at a slight disadvantage or atleast levels the playing field more in their advantage.

So do i go against my poker morals( oxymoron i know) and start using a HUD, which i still feel ruin the games or do i just keep trucking along without it. Let me also say that I haven't been using my PT2 lately either b/c its so damn slow and I find it easier to just review HH after myself. I have been planning on upgrading to Holdem manager, but since ive been playing a lot of PLO it wouldnt really do me any good unless i also purchased the PLO manager.

More than likely ill make the switch sooner or later but im still undecided. Any thoughts would be welcomed.

The Hangover

Gotta throw out a Plug for this movie. Ive already seen it twice and I laughed as hard the second time as i did the first. Hilarious movie the entire way through. go see it.

First Post

I guess i'll start off with a little introduction. Im 23 years old and Ive been playing poker my whole life. Since 2002 Ive been playing poker online, ya I know I broke the rules but who didnt. Ive been playing as a "pro" for the last 4 years although I only classify it as "pro" because thats how I make my living. I started out playing nlh SnG's, then made the move to MTTs, then cash games, then HU, then PLO. I get bored playing the same game types for long periods of time, I call it ADHD, you can call it what you may.

As of right now Ive been mixing it up with a little bit of everything but the last year Ive been working hard on my PLO game and HU. Since PLO has such crazy swings Ive been using HU to supplement my bankroll. These 2 game types really fit my style of play well since its more off a thinking game rather than the ABC NLH games available. Plus not a lot of people know how to play PLO well and HU although nlh is a different animal that requires an entire different level of thinking, but once you get there its pretty easy money.

If you care to look at my sharkscope you will notice that on pokerstars about a month ago theres a major downswing and your thinking this guys just got average stats. Well thats because i woke up on a nice Sunny sunday after having a +$1400 day the day before and decided to try and win a Main event package playing the $85 sats, then take the $250 tickets and turn those into a ME package hurray!!!. Unfortunately nobody told me that I was going to run like a quadriplegic that day and lose every flip, 60/40, and hell I even lost to one 2 outer and one horrible 1 outer where the villain ran out his straight flush after jamming the flop into my ace high flush. Needless to say i shoulda quit after the first hour of running like hell but after reviewing the session I kept telling myself that surely this -EV run couldnt last so i fired up another round and the bad run continued....-1k in less than 3 hours.

Having just cashed out a few thousand the night before to pay for our vegas week i was left with a bit of a dilemma since my online BR was not allowing me to play the games i wanted and i didnt want to drop down and play lower limits since i had been running well and playing great. do i a)try and rebuild my roll and play WSOP event 4 or b) redeposit and only play the event if my BR is in good standing. I chose option b and unfortunately for me my bad run continued for a few weeks and i ended up the month only +$800....a really horrible feeling when my bills eat up more than that per month and im about to be in Vegas in a week. So I was left with a diminished bankroll and had already dedicated the next week to getting ahead in my school work since id be missing a good portion of the 7 week spring semester.

i havent played yet today, ill post about my recent vegas trip and more current poker in the future. this seems like a solid first post.
