Decisions Decisions

Lets do this blog in in a quasi-list form. Decision/problem:

1. Poker Tracker no longer working, as in takes hours to load hands(used to be 10-20 min) and when its done, they arent showing up. So I have been 4 months w/o any HH software or HUD, I still dont use a HUD and I am still contemplating whether or not i want to basically same as my post on it a few weeks ago. So the HUD not a huge deal but the HH is hurting my game im sure, although its not a huge deal playing Heads up but it would help and especially for PLO.
Decision to be made: what software to get, PT3(heard still has bugs) or HEM (good an bad reviews)

2. Keep grinding up HU/SNGs...now that im done clearing my bonus' on FT and I now have rakeback, should I keep grinding out HU and HU sngs or should I switch to being a 2bb/100 PLO player and make more in rakeback but possibly less $$$ overall (still havent mastered PLO and playing on just one site I feel hurts my winrate for whatever reason). On top of that im still not comfortable with my bankroll as i still havent deposited since cashing out for VEGAS!!! although im proud of my BR management through the small stakes, even though it goes up at a snails pace compared to before.
Decision- prolly grind more HU then make the transition.

3....to be continued i just realised im supposed to meet my family for dinner in an hour and im running late, get back to this in a few days.

Busy couple of weeks + Rakeback!

Been extremely busy with football starting up again, weddings to go to, my little sisters 21st birthday, etc, etc... But im back so ill give a little cliff notes version of the poker since my last post.

Had to cash out a large portion of my roll to pay some bills so i was left with 500 on stars and apparently I still had 11 dollars on FTP. So i ran it up to $150 playing $5 HU sngs then started shortstacking 8 tables of 50nl and was only going to play AKs+,QQ+ which is what i did since i was playing out of my bankroll but i didnt think i would have the "run bad" i ended up having. First hand i played picked up aces on the button and when action got to me there was a raise to 3 a reraise and a call to 20 and i obv called my $15 and the original raiser reraised all in for like 100 and the other 2 folded so im in an $80ish pot with AA and he turns over QQ, HURRAAAAHHH....until the turn when a Q popped off, poo poo for me. One of the guys who folded said he had AQo to rub salt in my wounds....

On the session i lost KK to JJ, KK to AKs, AKs to 89s( ya he called a $20 reraise preflop and hits his straight on the river)and had aces cracked 2/3 times in only 500 hands....all in all of my all ins I won 2 lost 8, got it in dominating everytime except in one hand flipping my AKs vs JJ which i lost. my exected all in value was +$150 ended up dropping $90, leaving me with around $70 after clearing 2 $10 parts of my bonus.

BACK TO HU SNGS!

I decided that after I clear the bonus I simply cannot play on FTP anymore w/o rackback. Why not take a shot and ship them an email demanding RB and threatening them with missing out on 20k in rake the remainder of the year, whats the worst they can say no, okay ill keep playin on stars. Well they sent me an email saying they would pass me on to rakebackpros.com but basically indicated they would give me rakeback. After a week of hearing nothing and running my roll up to $350ish, i cashed out all but $50 since i had nearly cleared my entire bonus and had no desire to continue play on FTP after i cleared the remainder. Until yesterday, 2 days after cashing out, I get an email from RBP.com that i now have 27% rakeback on FTP!!!!!

Unfortunately, i have to find a way to get money back on after cashing out a check which i havent recieved yet, although ill probably just keep Hammering the $5 & $10 HU Sng's because ive been killing them. Ive had two different streaks of 11 and 18 wins in a row which is pretty sick and i did run fairly well, but the players are soooooo bad. I should really just stick to HU but it gets so boring after a few hours and i love PLO and NLHE but ive been running sooooo bad (although i havent played much PLO now that i think of it) ((lightbulb!!))

Time to make some money and workout before the girl gets home from work.

I RUN BAD

Played well yesterday in 1milTT and sunday mil but didnt finish that well financially... as a result of running like a one legged dog.

Had a very healthy stack in the TT and made a resteal with AJs in the BB, LAG button snap calls, flop Jxx rainbow, I check he shoves i call, shows jqo, spikes a Q on the river...my stack goes from 100BB to 9BB. Make an M shove and with k9s get called by K6o, 66x flop...GG me.

Started the Sunday Milly an hour late...if theres going to be an hour late reg i might as well take advantage, healthy stack on bubble in like 50th place at that point, had aces v kings(who was in like 2nd place) and he spikes king on turn, gg me....

Free money

So i got an email from Full Tilt say they value me as a customer blah blah blah here's $300(that's what i read anyway). I guess that's what i get for cashing out my roll after a heated email exchange which ended in them not giving me rakeback and me telling them to go to hell. I guess this is their way of giving me rakeback but i will most like cash most of it back out again, but this time ill leave some on for MTT's because they run some good ones occasionally.

also i wish i would have tried to cash out a couple days earlier b/c with all the frozen account bs and echecks/ checks bouncing, Stars is giving people money for their troubles( Ive heard anywhere from $100 to 10% of their total cashout) would have been nice....

Praying for 2x Vpp or better yet that ridiculous promo those anti-dental Brits got last month! Sorry all my English pals but I'm still a little bitter and stereotypes are funny!

Vegas Trip

So to make this preface short, my girlfriend had never been to Vegas and needed a vacation. You know Im always down to go to Vegas so we planned a week trip at the start of the world series so I could play and she could get her vacay.

I will honestly say I didnt think i would have as much fun with her as i normally would with friends, mainly because all my friends planting the seed by saying "vegas cool, oh that sucks your girls goin". But as it turns out we had a phenomenal time and she wants to go back again soon, which is a far cry from about 6 months ago when she swore up and down she would never go to LV.

On a side note, i elected to not play event 4 a) because i didnt want her to be bored and alone for a day+ in a place shes never been, b) this reasons outlined in my first post and i didnt reach my self imposed goal. Not a big deal really bc i most likely would have received a horrible beat from a huge moron as is standard in those large live donkaments.

I think the main reason i had so much fun was because i actually experienced more of VEGAS and less of the inside of casinos... on previous trips i spent 10 hours a day at the poker table and the rest of the time by the pool or playing cocktail hunter(explanation to come). Anyway we went and saw KA which is an amazing show and we meet a few people at the 3 card tables from cali who we hung out with. We spent A LOT of time at the pool and going to nicer restaurants rather than just eating fast food every meal, although you know we had to hit up fat burger b/c Im fly at fat burger when im way out west!

COCKTAIL HUNTER!!!!! you know what im talking about, cocktail hunter is when you bounce from slot to slot getting free drinks from the cocktail waitresses and after a while and the more sloshed you get it becomes a much more exciting game! We played that a few nights, our record was 15 beers/12 mixed drinks in 2 hours for 15 bucks in tips, needless to say we were hammered drunk and had a great time back in the hotel room!!

In closing...all in all a great trip although i only played about 8 hours total of poker, i was running hot at 3 card poker hitting 3-3 of a kinds and 1 straight flush, and after spending $800 on food plus the shows and cost of the suite and flying out there we were only $200 bucks in the hole so the trip paid for itself. Not as much as ive made in the past playing poker but a much more enjoyable trip.

More to come on my adventure of redepositing after my trip to come....stay tuned.

To HUD or not to HUD

I have been debating for quite sometime now on whether or not to start using a HUD while playing. On one hand I am completely against it because it gives players information that I dont believe they could accurately gather/use without it. On the other hand it seems as though a majority of players(excluding fish) are using them, so that puts me at a slight disadvantage or atleast levels the playing field more in their advantage.

So do i go against my poker morals( oxymoron i know) and start using a HUD, which i still feel ruin the games or do i just keep trucking along without it. Let me also say that I haven't been using my PT2 lately either b/c its so damn slow and I find it easier to just review HH after myself. I have been planning on upgrading to Holdem manager, but since ive been playing a lot of PLO it wouldnt really do me any good unless i also purchased the PLO manager.

More than likely ill make the switch sooner or later but im still undecided. Any thoughts would be welcomed.
